Lauren Anderson is the epitome of style and grace, and with a career that has unfolded like a beautiful ballet itself, HERSTORY is one for the books. Lauren began her journey with ballet at the age of 7, and she always believed that she could do anything she wanted to do, even in a world that placed a limit on the heights black ballerinas could reach. Nevertheless, she gracefully pirouetted through challenges, broke barriers, and shattered stereotypes by becoming the first Black Principal Ballerina of the Houston Ballet and one of the few Black ballerinas at the head of a major ballet company in the world.
Lauren, a true trailblazer, performed the lead in all classic ballets including “The Firebird” which is featured on this t-shirt. After dancing with the Houston Ballet for 23 years, she continues her passion and works as a dance instructor at the same company she made Herstory. Lauren's story transcends the stage, inspiring not just ballerinas, but all to dream big. A reminder to NEVER GIVE UP!
